The Classic Slide is an extraordinary art car built primarily for cruising the open playa at Burning Man. Built on a 1997 Ford 250, this towering circus tent provides a thrilling climb to the top where you can take in the views of this incredible art festival. Then, you can slide down our 35-foot slide off of the back! We also have a large lounge space where everyone is welcome to come hang out and cruise around the playa with us.
This project was masterminded by Brian Dean of Salt Mind and I helped him (along with the rest of the Salt Mind team) execute and fabricate this incredibly unique vehicle. I spent more hours cutting and welding steel, measuring and cutting fabric, painting, and drilling holes than I can count, but it was all worth it to dress up as a carny and treat people to the ride of their lives.
